operations, seeks to employ a Senior Oracle Data
Base Administrator for its Sugar Factory In
Uganda, which has Implemented SAP ECC 6.0. This
position has potential growth for the suitable
candidate for working in an environment presently
comprising of Oracle running on Solaris Sun servers
and a company-wide VMware virtual desktop and
server Installation.
Reporting to
the Director Finance, the incumbent will be responsible
for:

2417 support of database services
to ensure the highest standards of availability,
resilience, integrity, security and performance.
·
Performance monitoring, reporting
and tuning of Oracle databases.
·
Management and maintenance of
back-ups and recovery procedures using RMAN.
Data Guards. High Availability, Flash back
Recovery Features & Flash back query.
·
Installation and maintenance of
database server, replication and client environment.
·
Database security and access
control.
·
Provision of support and
assistance todevelopment team in the design, development,
testing, tuning and implementation of database applications.
The candidate should be a B. Tech. CS/IT degree with 5 + years experience in
Oracle 106/116 OBA. Working knowledge and experience
of SAP ERP, BASIS administration, patching/migration, Oracle utilities, design, development and administration of Oracle databases in data center environment with multiple OS managing Oracle RDBMS installation, administration, up gradation of 106/116. ASM and RAC is essential.
