Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- Syrang of Lascars:
- 10th pass from a recognized institution or board
- Syrang Certificate under Inland Vessels Act, 1917 or Merchant Shipping Act, 1958
- Two years' experience as Syrang-in-Charge on a registered vessel of at least twenty horsepower
- Lascar-I:
- 10th pass from a recognized institution or board
- Knowledge of swimming
- One-year experience on a registered vessel
- Fireman (Boat Crew):
- 10th pass from a recognized institution or board
- Knowledge of swimming
- Certificate of completion of pre-sea training course
- Topass:
- 10th pass from a recognized institution or board
- Knowledge of swimming
Age Limit (as of 01.04.2025):
- Syrang of Lascars – 18 to 25 years
- Lascar-I – 18 to 25 years
- Fireman (Boat Crew) – 18 to 25 years
- Topass – 18 to 25 years
Relaxation of Upper Age Limit:
- SC/ST Applicants: 5 years
- OBC Applicants: 3 years
- PwBD (General/EWS): 10 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per government policy
Pay Scale:
- Syrang of Lascars: Level 4, Rs. 25,500 – 81,100
- Lascar-I: Level 1, Rs. 18,000 – 56,900
- Fireman (Boat Crew): Level 1, Rs. 18,000 – 56,900
- Topass: Level 1, Rs. 18,000 – 56,900
