Playing Chess

A chess board has 64 squares. In how many different positions can you arrange two draughts on the board? 

Answer:       The first piece can be place in any of the 64 squares. In other words, there are 64 ways of placing it. Now remains 63 squares for the second piece, that is to any one of the 64 positions of the first piece we can add the 63 positions to the second.There are 64x 63 = 4032 different positions in which two pieces may be placed on a draught board.
